CCD UBVRI photometry of NGC 6811

Abstract: We present the results of CCD UBVRI observations of the open cluster NGC 6811 obtained on 18th July 2012 with the 1m telescope at the T\"UB\.ITAK National Observatory (TUG). Using these photometric results, we determine the structural and astrophysical parameters of the cluster. The mean photometric uncertainties are better than 0.02 mag in the V magnitude and B-V, V-R, and V-I colour indices to about 0.03 mag for U-B among stars brighter than magnitude V=18. Cluster member stars were separated from the field … Show more

“…This section is a summary of the methods utilized to determine the fundamental parameters of Frolov 1 and NGC 7510 (for background details on methodology, see Ak et al 2016;Banks et al 2020;Bilir et al 2016;Bostanc et al 2018;Yontan et al 2019). We obtained reddening and metallicity estimates by fitting observational models on the TCDs, while distance moduli and ages were determined simultaneously by fitting theoretical isochrones on CMDs.…”

“…To avoid degeneracies between the parameters, it is important to measure astrophysical parameters separately. Indeed, reddening and age values in particular can suffer from degeneracies, and the uncertainties of these parameters can be higher than expected (Bilir et al 2010;Yontan et al 2015). In order to achieve the best fit of isochrones during the calculations, we fitted them on CMDs with an emphasis on the main-sequence and turn-off members of the clusters.…”

“…In this section we summarised the techniques applied during the cluster analyses (for detailed analyses on methods used see Bilir et al (2006Bilir et al ( , 2010Bilir et al ( , 2016; Yontan et al (2015Yontan et al ( , 2019Yontan et al ( , 2021; Bostancı et al (2015Bostancı et al ( , 2018; Ak et al (2016); Banks et al (2020)). We estimated reddening and photometric metallicities from TCDs on an individual basis, then keeping these parameters as a constants we fitted theoretical isochrones on CMDs to determine distance moduli and age simultaneously.…”
