“…The disease predominantly affects female patients 40-60 years of age. [3] Cecal volvulus as an uncommon cause of acute intestinal obstruction is axial twist of the cecum, ascending colon and terminal ileum around their mesenteric pedicles. Although there are many different etiologic and predisposing factors for cecal volvulus, exact etiology is most likely multifactorial in presence of mobile cecum.…”

“…Cecal volvulus, itself is a rare ailment which accounts for 1%-2% of all cases of intestinal obstruction in adults [9]. “…Caecal volvulus (CV) is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction, defined by an axial torsion of the cecum, ascending colon, and terminal ileum around the mesenteric vascular pedicles. [ 1 ] The incidence of caecal volvulus is 2.8-7.1 cases per million annually, and it causes approximately 1-1.5% of all intestinal obstructions [ 2 ]. Due to its infrequent occurrence and nonspecific clinical symptoms and signs, a definitive diagnosis of cecal volvulus is often delayed.…”
