Centrally Acting Antihypertensive Agents in the Treatment of Hypertension

Abstract: Centrally acting antihypertensive agents stimulate α 2 -adrenergic receptors and/or imidazoline receptors on adrenergic neurons situated within the rostral ventrolateral medulla and in so doing variably reduce sympathetic outfl ow.
