CeO2 nanoparticles synthesized through green chemistry are biocompatible: In vitro and in vivo assessment

Abstract: Widespread use of cerium oxide (CeO 2 ) nanoparticles (NPs) is found in almost all areas of research due to their distinctive properties. CeO 2 NPs synthesized via green chemistry have been characterized for antioxidant, phytochemical, and biological potential. Physical characterization through scanning electron microscopy, XRD, and TGA showed that the NPs are circular in shape, 20-25 nm in size, and stable in a wide range of temperature. NPs display significant antioxidant (32.7% free radical scavenging activ… Show more

“…Undoubtedly, the use of nanoceria as a biomaterial will continue to be one of the highlights of biology, biomedical, and materials science in the coming years. However, this nanoparticle has been considered in the category of hazardous compounds by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and OECD recommends that the toxicity profile should be investigated with further experimental studies (Naz et al, 2019). In particular, the methods of studies for determining toxicity may be varied, as well as the parameters related to the particle (size, shape, surface load, crystal structure, concentration, and application time, etc.)…”

“…Therefore, any substance with ability to PKI activity have significant importance in cancer research. The present results revealed the presence of potent phytochemicals in different extracts such as aqueous, methanol and ethanol which is reported to be involved in protein kinases inhibition (Naz, Kazmi, & Zia, 2019;Tabassum et al, 2019).…”
