Cerebellar neurodegeneration in a new rat model of episodic hepatic encephalopathy

Abstract: Hepatic encephalopathy has traditionally been considered a reversible disorder. However, recent studies suggested that repeated episodes of hepatic encephalopathy cause persistent impairment leading to neuronal loss.
