Cerebrospinal fluid levels of proenkephalin and prodynorphin are differentially altered in Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease

Abstract: Background Proenkephalin (PENK) and prodynorphin (PDYN) are peptides mainly produced by the striatal medium spiny projection neurons (MSNs) under dopaminergic signaling.
