Cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (CTX) is a rare genetic lipid storage disease. CTX is characterised by childhood-onset cataract, adolescent to young adult-onset tendon xanthomas and adult-onset progressive neurological dysfunction (dementia, psychiatric disturbances, pyramidal and/or cerebellar signs and seizures).
