Ceria promotion over Ni-containing hydrotalcite-derived catalysts for CO2methane reforming

Abstract: Abstract. The catalytic activity in dry methane reforming of hydrotalcitederived catalysts with ceria and/or nickel species introduced into hydrotalcite interlayer spaces was examined. The prepared materials were characterized (XRF, XRD, FT-IR, H2-TPR and N2 sorption) and subsequently tested in CO2 methane reforming at 550 °C. The obtained results showed that the incorporation of nickel species between hydrotalcite layers resulted in active catalyst with no sign of carbon deposition. Additionally, a beneficial… Show more

“…In this range nearby 1600–1700 cm −1 was due to interlayer H 2 O bending vibration. The band noted at 1350–1380 cm −1 may demonstrate that the CO 3 2− were present in the interlayer of HT 41 . The stretching vibrational frequency H‐atom in –OH group of HT‐LaMOFs noted at lower wavelength 3420 cm −1 .…”

“…The band noted at 1350-1380 cm À1 may demonstrate that the CO 3 2À were present in the interlayer of HT. 41 The stretching vibrational frequency H-atom in -OH group of HT-LaMOFs noted at lower wavelength 3420 cm À1 . The significant bands were observed at 1628 and 1568 cm À1 ascribed to asymmetric stretching vibrations of carboxylate in linker, and the bands noted at 1442 and 1372 cm À1 were correlated to symmetric stretching vibrations of carboxylate in linker.…”

“…There are focuses on the development of DRM catalysts for catalysts with the following features: greater activity and greater stability towards coke formation, sintering, the formation of inactive chemical species and metal oxidation [115]. The catalytic efficiency could be improved by changing the catalyst's active sites by adding supports and promoters during catalyst preparing to increase conversion and selectivity [116].…”

“…The use of supports with high oxygen storage capacity is another option to overcome the deactivation of catalysts during DRM. Modified fluorite-like supports, doublelayered hydroxides, hydrotalcites, nanocatalysts and especially mixed oxides as CexZr1-xO2 materials are believed to be promising supports for good Ni dispersion and coke control in DRM [26,27].…”
