Abstract:An instantaneous generation of atomic iodine by subsonic mixing and reaction of C102, NO and HI in the chemical oxygen-iodine laser was calculated by means of 3-D Navier-Stokes equations coupled to the finite rate chemistry model. The numerical simulation predicts high yield of atomic iodine related to HI. The calculated number density of atomic iodine in the supersonic laser cavity is 0.8-1.2 xlO'5 at the stagnation pressure of 5kPa.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
