Abstract:Flow in microchannels is an important area of research in engineering because its importance in areas such as micro-machinery. In addition, hydrophobic materials have become increasingly attractive for use in fabrication of microfluidic devices. However, even when in macroscopic flows the non-slip boundary condition on solid wall has been well accepted, a number of recent studies have found evidences of slip velocities for liquid flow on hydrophobic surface.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
