“…Titov (2007) showed that the geodetic performance of the geographically isolated Ho radio telescope was several times worse than those of similar dishes in the Northern Hemisphere, a consequence of the lack of suitable partner antennas. Studying the current antenna networks that regu- larly contribute to the weekly experiments coordinated by the International VLBI Service for Geodesy and Astrometry (IVS, Schuh and Behrend 2012), we find 15 antennas in the northern and nine antennas in the Southern Hemisphere (Plank et al 2015b). Five of the nine Southern Hemisphere antennas were built after the year 2010.…”
