“…I conclude the article with a discussion of its implications for future research. I outline how the CRUES approach aids in "environmentalizing" urban sociology in a manner that responds to calls for urban (Dantzler, Korver-Glenn, and Howell 2022) and environmental (Liévanos et al 2021) sociologists to center critical perspectives on race and racism. I also discuss how this article can inform scholarship on the conjoint constitution of race and environment in discriminatory mortgage risk assessments within and beyond the HOLC.…”
