Changes in kinematic parameters during walking in adults with low back pain subjected to Vojta therapy. A pilot study

Abstract: Introduction. The aim of the study was to evaluate changes in selected basic and derivative kinematic parameters of gait in adult patients with low back pain subjected to Vojta therapy. Methods. The study included 17 patients with low back pain subjected to Vojta therapy. Gait parameters were assessed with G-SENSoR, the wireless inertial measurement unit system for gait analysis. The device was placed on the body of the patient in the lumbar region at the level of L4-L5, and enabled to obtain accurate and obje… Show more

“…A total of 180 participants included both men and women. The main measurement variables related to improvements in postural control, functionally, disability, and pain of VT were: the thickness of the abdominal muscles, the area of the diaphragm during inspiration and expiration ( 47 ), pain intensity ( 48 , 49 , 51 ), range of motion and strength, quality of life ( 48 , 51 ), disability, flexibility, and radiculopathy ( 49 ), and gait parameters ( 50 ).…”

“…Exercises are among the main methods of treatment of chronic LBP. it has been shown that they reduce the duration and frequency of LBP [42,43]. Specific exercises that activate abdominal and/or back extensor muscles are advocated to reduce pain and disability [44,45].…”

“…After a thalamic stroke, conservative treatment methods such as exercise therapy and pharmacotherapy are used. Those techniques increase mobilization and reduce pain, as well as improve functional status and mental state [16]. Thalamic syndrome recovery interventions keep concentrating on motor dysfunction, disregarding somatosensory impairment [17].…”
