Abstract:It was found that the intake of nicotine by rats of pregnant females in conjunction with a reduction in the volume of food consumed has a significant impact on the system of «placenta – fetus» in offspring of both sexes, significantly reducing the morphological and functional characteristics and capabilities of the placenta due to toxic and vasoconstrictor effects of nicotine.
