“…This speaks for a lower effort-reward-imbalance in our sample (18% in 2016). Also, the proportion of intensive care physicians in our companion study with an effort-reward-imbalance was higher compared to the sample of psychiatrists (intensive care physicians 2016: 14.7%, psychiatrists 2016: 7.4%) ( 41 ). Our results speak against higher occupational stress levels among the psychiatrists we surveyed compared to data from other professional groups and physicians in other specialties which were roughly collected in the same period.…”

As in the present sample, correlation analyses showed that more working hours per week and working days on weekends were associated with an increased effort-reward-imbalance and higher burnout scores in intensive care physicians.…”

Currently, physicians Bodendieck et al BMC Health Services Research (2022) 22:1082 -especially younger generations -wish for more flexibility, as well as the possibility to work part-time [7].…”

“…Um estudo adicional realizado com médicos intensivistas forneceu evidências semelhantes: menos horas de trabalho semanais podem ter influência positiva no estresse ocupacional dos médicos. Esse estudo demonstrou também que mais finais de semana de folga contribuem igualmente para a redução de burnout 29 .…”
