“…Patients diagnosed with elderly schizophrenia in the First Hospital of Hebei Medical University were recruited from January 2020 to December 2021. The inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) meeting the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition (DSM‐5) (Guo et al., 2015); (2) being without electric convulsions, not taking antipsychotic drugs or sedatives 2 weeks before enrollment, and dextromanuality; (3) no obvious organic lesions based on head CT or MRI; (4) age ranged from 60 to 86 years old; and (5) informed consent signed by family members of patients. The exclusion criteria were as follows: (1) loss of consciousness caused by traumatic brain injury for more than 30 min, (2) a history of alcohol and neuroactive substance abuse, (3) mental retardation, (4) mental disorders caused by physical or cerebrovascular diseases, (5) liver and kidney dysfunction, (6) being with severe hearing impairment, and (7) being unwilling to participate in the study of patient's family.…”
