“…This is likely due to overall increased secondary MMD burden because all patients with posterior region involvement also had evidence of cortical strokes or WMD in the anterior (frontotemporal) regions. Kim et al 10 found that adult MMD severity, as measured by degree of intracranial arterial involvement on cerebral angiography, increased in patients with ischemic lesions involving the cortical regions and the posterior part of the brain. This finding may be related to later involvement of the posterior cerebral arteries in advanced stages of MMD.…”
