Chaplygin inspired inflation

Abstract: We discuss chaotic inflation in the context of a phenomenological modification of gravity inspired by the Chaplygin gas equation of state. We find that all observational constraints can be satisfied provided that the Chaplygin scale and the inflaton mass are smaller than 6.9 × 10 −3 M and 4.7 × 10 −6 M , respectively, where M 2 ≡ (8πG) −1 is the reduced Planck mass.PACS numbers: 98.80.Cq, 98.65.Es

“…(32) and (33), we can analytically solve α and K in terms of , R , V , and λ as ( * ) = 0 017, we can obtain a lower limit for V 3 λ when the cosmological scales exit the horizon λV 3 > 1 9 × 10 −6 (37) where κ = 1.…”

“…In the present work we initiate tachyoninflation model by using the polytropic equation of state. Previously, chaotic inflation in the context a phenomenological modification of gravity inspired by the Chaplygin gas equation of state, has been studied by Bertolami et al [32]. According to this model, the scalar field which drives inflation is the standard inflaton field, which can be extrapolated for obtaining a successful inflation period with a Chaplygin gas model.…”

“…However, we should emphasize that our inflationary model is not presented as a more desirable alternative to the conventional ones. Rather, we merely aim to establish the assumptions and extrapolations required to obtain successful inflation in a Chaplygin inspired model [61].…”
