“…The structural characteristics of superconducting coils depend on the insulation type and its materials, which influence the parameters of the superconducting machine 64 . Induction voltage, inductance, magnetic field distribution and time constant are some of the parameters that are affected by differences in the structural proportions 65 . MgB2 cable with S-glass or polyester braided insulation is commonly used for the stator winding in superconducting electrical machines.…”

“…From each comparative analysis result, it is confirmed the effects on the HTS generator and field coil performance through function of inner radius (r i ), thickness (t c ), and height (h c ) and determine the effects of the air-gap shape change and the spreading DP coil arrangement. It is indicated that the optimal analysis results on the generator induced voltage in rectangular shape design, which has the largest r i and generates the largest induced voltage and lowest magnetic flux density in the superconducting field coil [45]. [46], it has presented results of generator design optimization using LCOE as a measure of the best design.…”

“…To reduce material consumption, enhance the heat transfer or improve motor performance, several similarly irregularly shaped magnets have been proposed by researchers for HTS motors [12][13][14]. However, our stepped magnet is mainly aimed at improving the performance of EDS on-board magnet.…”
