“…The CRs of Gryllotalpidae show low variations in lengths, which range from 863 bp in G. henana to 920 bp in the Korean G. orientalis . The low variations of CR in length are likely attributed to the lacking of conspicuous repeats, which are often found in other insects [ 6 , 54 , 64 , 65 , 66 ]. Two kinds of short repeats were detected in Gryllotalpidae for the first time ( Supplementary Table S5 ).…”

“…Our analyses show that the lengths of the non-coding control region (CR) and repeat region (RR) vary widely among mitogenomes of different aphid species, which in turn can drive major differences in mitogenome size. Aphids with larger mitogenomes usually contain longer CRs or RRs, such as the larger tandem RR in A. glycines (2343 bp) [ 63 ] and S. sinisalicis (1489 bp) [ 22 ], and the larger CR in M. persicae (2531 bp) [ 59 ] and G. ficicola (1598 bp) [ 55 ]. The CR has been thought to play important role in the transcription and replication of mitogenomes [ 75 ].…”

“…Most of the protein-coding genes terminate with TAA, but nad4 and nad4L terminate with CAT; cox1 with ATT; and nad1 with AAT. The mitogenome content and organization of C. fragaefolii is similar to other genera in the tribe Macrosiphini, including Cavariella salicicola (Wang et al 2013), Diuraphis noxia (Zhang et al 2014), Indomegoura indica (Hong et al 2019), Myzus persicae (Voronova et al 2020), and Sitobion avenae (Zhang et al 2016). These taxa however differed from Acyrthosiphon pisum (International Aphid Genomics Consortium 2010) in the position of one of the trnS genes.…”
