Abstract:The radioactive and physical characteristics of Syrian hot waters were studied. The concentration of uranium, its daughters and the 234 U/ 238 U-activity ratios in the hot waters were measured by gamma and alpha ray spectroscopy. The 234 U/ 238 U-activity ratios showed that uranium in Syrian hot waters are in an equilibrium state. Some anomalous observations of these ratios were explained by former leaching of the uranium from Cretaceous phosphates by underground water. Also, the results showed that the temper… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
