“…At present, four stripe rust resistance genes from wheat– P . huashanica translocation lines have been identified by our group (Cao et al., 2008; Li et al., 2012; Ma et al., 2013, 2016, 2019; Sun et al., 2019). These genes possess high level of resistance to the tested Pst races.…”

“…Subsequently, several excellent resistance genes to most Chinese Pst races were found from P. huashanica . The resultant genes were temporarily named YrH9015 (Sun et al., 2019), YrH921 (Ma et al., 2019), YrHu (Ma et al., 2016), YrHA (Ma et al., 2013), YrH9020 (Li et al., 2012), YrHy (Yao et al., 2010) and YrHua (Cao et al ., 2008). In this study, the wheat translocation line H921‐11‐1 possesses resistance to all Chinese Pst races from 1990 to the present.…”

“…Since 1990, many of its excellent traits have been transferred to common wheat by wide hybridization [7,8] and created some derived lines with P. huashanica chromosome fragments: Such as addition lines 20JH1155 [9], substitution lines H139 [10], translocation lines TR77 [11], etc., these derived offspring outperform their parents in biological and abiotic stressors, as well as agronomic qualities. So far, some important genes controlling excellent traits in derived lines have also been explored, such as the identi cation of stripe rust resistance genes YrHu [12] and YrH9015 [13]; The resistance to take-all gene of wheat -P. huashanica introgression line H148 was located in the 68.8-70.1 Mb interval of chromosome 2As [14]; 7Ns of wheat -P. huashanica disomic addition line 2-1-6 showed resistance to leaf rust [15]. The development of these materials demonstrates that P. huashanica is an important germplasm resource for wheat genetic improvement.…”

“…These progeny lines outperformed their wheat parents in terms of abiotic and biotic stress resistance and agronomic traits. To date, there has been some progress in the mapping of important genes in the P. huashanica genome, including those conferring resistance to stripe rust and take-all ( Ma et al., 2016 ; Bai et al., 2021 ; Sun et al, 2018 ). Therefore, P. huashanica is generally considered to be a potentially useful germplasm for the genetic improvement of wheat.…”
