Characterization of a chiral metamaterial depending on the type of connection between unit cells

Abstract: The main focus in the development of metamaterials is on the design of multiscale structures, rather than on the chemical composition and properties of the base materials. In this work, a mechanical metamaterial is studied by mathematical modeling and computer simulations. A tetrachiral metamaterial structure is chosen due to its specific rotational behavior under uniaxial loading.
