Characterization of alkaline lipase from Fusarium oxysporum and the effect of different surfactants and detergents on the enzyme activity

Abstract: Nowadays, there is a tendency of use of low temperature in laundry cleaning for both environmental and economical reasons, which makes the use of enzymes in detergent products indispensable. Since lipases are efficient catalyst both in solution and at the water-liquid interface, they are potentially suitable for lipid stain removal applications in industrial laundry and household detergents. The effect of different commercial detergents and surfactants on enzymatic activity of lipase from Fusarium oxysporum wa… Show more

“…Tween 20 and 80 had inhibitory effects (54.7-31.4%) on the lipolytic activities at all levels Table 5. These results were similar to those of Prazeres et al (2006) responded to the added amino acid. Glutamic acid had a maximum inhibitory effect (29.4%).…”

“…On other hand, some authors obtained lipase activity only after 5 days of cultivation (ABBAS et al, 2002;ACIKEL et al, 2011;RAPP, 1995). Investigations of the carbon source effects have been done in order to find good lipase inducers and enhance lipase production (PRAZERES et al, 2006;ANDRADE et al, 2013). RAPP et al (1995) mentioned the use of olive oil added to glucose to produce lipases by F. oxysporum.…”

“…Effect of surfactants (SDS and Tween 80) and commercial detergents (Rinso, Attack, and SoKlin) on lipase activity were determined according to [10]. 250 μL of enzyme solution was preincubated in 250 μL of surfactants or commercial detergents (solution of 0.1 and 1.0% w/v) for 30 minutes at 30 °C.…”
