Characterization of fliR-deletion mutant ΔfliR from Vibrio alginolyticus and the evaluation as a live attenuated vaccine

Abstract: Vibrio alginolyticus is the common pathogen affecting various species of marine organisms. It has been demonstrated that fliR is a necessary virulence factor to adhere and infect their hosts for pathogenic bacteria. Frequent disease outbreaks in aquaculture have highlighted the necessity of developing effective vaccines. In the present study, in order to investigate the function of fliR in V.alginolyticus, the fliR deletion mutant ΔfliR was constructed and its biological properties were evaluated, additionally… Show more

“…V. parahaemolyticus was treated with chromone and its derivatives (5, 10, and 20 µg/mL) at 30°C at 250 rpm for 24 h. After 24 h incubation, the microtube was centrifuged at 13,000× g for 15 min and 75 µL of the aqueous phase were treated with (2% w/v; 125 µL azocasein) and incubated at 37°C for 30 min. Consequently, (trichloroacetic acid solution (10%); 600 µL) was added to the suspension in order to halt the proteolytic activity, and tubes were stored at −20°C for 30 min, and (700 µL; 1 M NaOH) was added to the suspension ( Da et al., 2023 ). The absorbance of the mixture was measured at 440 nm.…”
