Abstract:The turbulent flow of liquid steel in a slab mold was characterized using a commercial nozzle through physical water-model experiments and four turbulent models: 𝑘 − 𝜀 Realizable (RKE), Detached Eddy Simulation (DES), Scale-Adaptive Simulation (SAS), and Large Eddy Simulation (LES). The comparison between numerical results and the experimental measurements (using Ultrasound Velocimetry) permitted the characterization of flow structures along a sub meniscus region, (of great importance for flux-dragging pheno… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
