Abstract:Background:Usher syndrome (USH) is an inherited disorder characterized by sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), retinitis pigmentosa (RP)-related vision loss, and vestibular dysfunction. USH presents itself as three distinct clinical types 1, 2 and 3, with no biomarker for early detection. This study aimed to explore novel microRNA (miRNA) biomarkers for USH by comparing miRNA expression patterns in cell lines derived from USH patients and control subjects.
Methods:Lymphocytes from USH patients and healthy indiv… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
