Characterizing correlations and synchronization in collective dynamics

Abstract: Synchronization, that occurs both for non-chaotic and chaotic systems, is a striking phenomenon with many practical implications in natural phenomena. However, even before synchronization, strong correlations occur in the collective dynamics of complex systems.
