The new vector resonance X1(2900) observed recently by LHCb in the D − K + invariant mass distribution in the decay B + → D + D − K + is studied to uncover internal structure of this state, and calculate its physical parameters. In the present paper, the resonance X1(2900) is modeled as an exotic vector diquark-antidiquark state built of the light diquark u T Cγ5d and heavy antidiquark cγµγ5Cs T . The mass and current coupling of X1(2900) are computed using the QCD two-point sum rule approach by taking into account various vacuum condensates up to dimension 10. The width of the resonance X1( 2900) is saturated by two decay channels X1 → D − K + and X1 → D 0 K 0 . The strong couplings g1 and g2 corresponding to the vertices X1D − K + and X1D 0 K 0 are evaluated in the context of the QCD light-cone sum rule method and technical tools of the softmeson approximation. Results for the mass of the resonance X1(2900) m = (2890 ± 122) MeV, and for its full width Γ full = (93 ± 13) MeV are smaller than their experimental values reported by the LHCb collaboration. Nevertheless, by taking into account theoretical and experimental errors of investigations, interpretation of the state X1(2900) as the vector tetraquark does not contradict to the LHCb data. We also point out that analysis of the invariant mass distribution D + K + in the same decay B + → D + D − K + may reveal doubly charged four-quark structures [uc][sd].

Motivated by the discovery of fully open-flavor tetraquark states X0(2900) and X1(2900) by the LHCb Collaboration, the magnetic dipole moment of the X1(2900) state with the quantum numbers J P = 1 − is determined in the diquark-antidiquark model using the light-cone sum rules. The magnetic moments of hadrons encompasses useful knowledge on the distributions of charge and magnetization their inside, which can be used to better understand their geometrical shapes and quark-gluon organizations. The observation of the X0(2900) and X1( 2900) as the first two fully open-flavor multiquark states has opened a new window for investigation of the exotic states. The obtained results in the present study may shed light on the future experimental and theoretical searches on the properties of fully open-flavor multiquark states.

How to understand the $X(2900)$?

In this work, the Sand P -wave D * K * interactions are studied in a coupled-channel formalism to understand the recently observed X0(2900) and X1(2900) at LHCb. The experimental event distributions can be well described, and two states with I(J P ) = 0(0 + ) and 0(1 − ) are yielded in an unified framework with the same set of parameters. Their masses and widths are determined to be [m, Γ] −10.7 , 52.5 +9.5 −1.3 ] MeV from the pole analyses, respectively. The masses of the 0 + and 1 − states are consistent with the experimental data, but the width of the 0 + state is larger than that of the 1 − one. The X1(2900) can be interpreted as the P -wave excitation of the ground-state X0(2900) in the hadronic molecular picture. The Sand P -wave multiplets in the D * K * system have many members, so the present peak in the D − K + invariant mass distributions might contain multi subpeaks. In order to probe the fine structures behind the single whole peak now, more refined measurements in the B + → D + D − K + decay channel are necessary.
