Abstract:We present an experimental study of multiple-electron capture-induced fragmentation dynamics of Ar2m+ (4 ≤m≤ 7) dimer ions in 4 keV/u Ar8+–Ar2 collisions. The fragment recoil ion pairs and the charge-changing projectiles are coincidentally measured using a double coincidence technique. The branching ratios between the different charge-sharing fragmentation channels show an inherent enhancement of the asymmetric channels. The kinetic energy release (KER) distributions for the associated electron capture process… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
