Abstract:The design of suspensions for cars is mostly driven by experience. The other method is to use a commercially available simulation tool, which delivers the characteristic data of a suspension, defined by connection points and elasticities. The user is not really involved in the solution of the problem. This chapter gives hints for a rather simple method to find reasonable chassis designs with short computational efforts. There are equations available, which can be solved with Excel on a normal
