“…5 Quinolone-metal chelates have the potential ability to interact with various metal ions and record biological activity towards different microorganisms. 6,7 Quinolones can be act as uni-dentate, bi-dentate and bridging chelates. In general, quinolones are coordinated in bi-dentate fashion, and this takes place through one oxygen atom upon deprotonation of the -COOH group and carbonyl oxygen atom ( Fig.…”

“…A set of new cobalt, nickel, zinc, and silver complexes with moxifloxacin and benzimidazole ligands was manufactured in the form of [M(MOX)(Ben)Cl(H 2 O)m].nH 2 O, as well as [Ag-(MOX)(Ben)] 3 .5H 2 O, n = 1, 1.5, 2, and m = 0 or 2. [114] According to the FT-IR spectra, Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) ions coordinated with the moxifloxacin via the oxygen atoms of quinolone and carboxylate groups. However, Ag(I) ion was linked to the moxifloxacin by the nitrogen atom of the hydro-pyrrolopyridine moiety.…”

“…Refaat et al [148] synthesized metal (II) ion complexes of 1 H ‐benzimidazole‐MOX (moxifloxacin) mixed ligands and tested them for their anti‐cancer action against MCF‐7, HCT, and HepG2 human cancer cell lines through viability assay method. The results showed that complexes of Ni (II) and ZN(II) displayed insignificant activity against MCF‐7 cell lines, whereas MCF‐7 cells exhibited growth inhibition on treatment with MOX and Ag(I), Co (II) complexes in a dose dependent manner (IC 50 = 35.4, 6.1, and 13.2 μg/ml, respectively).…”
