“…Due to the insensitivity of XRD to non-crystalline minerals, integrated applications of polarized light and SEM analysis were used (Braun & Boles, 1992). Core samples were examined by SEM to examine the nature of fractures, pores and pore throats in the carbonates and to identify the scale types and clay minerals within the reservoir (Boschetti et al, 2020). The air permeability in uniform core samples of known dimensions (length and diameter) at 19 °C and viscosity of 0.018 cP 2 was measured in the lab-oratory of the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, College of Engineering, University of Baghdad and Basra Oil Company (BOC), by using a gas permeameter and DarcyÕs equation.…”

“…Because the support of the aquifer in the field is weak, the field's drive mechanism is depletion. Therefore, numerous wells of water flooding have been activated in this field to aid in sustaining its (Al-Mimar et al, 2018;Awadh et al, 2019;Awadeesian et al, 2019;Boschetti et al, 2020). The Mishrif formation is a regionally oil-bearing suite.…”

“…Absolute porosity equals effective porosity in very clean sands. Secondary porosity occurs after the rock is deposited, in contrast to primary porosity, which is defined as the rock's porosity during deposition (Boschetti et al, 2020). It appears due to chemical leaching in carbonate rocks or as fracture spaces in fractured reservoirs (Nasser et al, 2017).…”
