“…This approach is of special interest because colorectal cancer is one of the most common types which affects both women and men (Jemal et al, 2011). Although there is limited literature on the cytotoxic activity of quinoa, recent results have shown that the extracts from quinoa leaves or seeds can have a cytotoxic effect on the cells of various types of cancer in humans, including prostate cancer (Gawlik‐Dziki et al, 2013) and liver, breast (Hu et al, 2017), and cervical carcinoma (Paśko et al, 2019). Therefore, it is expected that the results from the present study will further contribute to the knowledge about the health‐promoting role of quinoa seeds as well as facilitate the selection of suitable quinoa cultivars for growing in the area of Southeast Europe.…”
