Chemical composition of the high- and low-sulphur Romney crossbred wools

Abstract: Wool samples from Romney crossbred sheep supplemented with intraperitoneal DL-methionine (2 g at 2-day intervals for 6 weeks) and from unsupplemented sheep were analysed for their complete amino acid composition. Wools from supplemented sheep had a greater ?ig~-suIRhur index (sum ~f threo~ine, serine, proline, and cystine), and are therefore rIch m hIgh-sulphur or matrix protems, 8f,ld had a smaller a-helix index (sum of aspartic and glutamic acids, alanine, leucine, and lysine) than wools from unsupplemented … Show more
