Abstract: Single crystals of SrZnAs2O7 (I) and BaCuAs2O7 (II) are prepared under hydrothermal conditions using 1:1:1 molar mixtures of Sr(OH)2 or Ba(OH)2, ZnO or Cu(NO3)2, and As2O5 at pH 3 [autoclave, 493 K resp.
