Abstract

Catalytic Activity of Co-Aakermanite and Co-Pyroxene in Oxidation Reactions.-The catalytic activity of Ca2CoSi2O7 (I) and CaCoSi2O6 (II) in oxidation reactions of CO and toluene is examined. Compound (II) with octahedral Co coordination exhibits higher catalytic acvtivity than (I) with tetrahedral Co coordination. Taking into account the higher Co content on the surface of (II), it turns out that complexes with Co 2+ ions in tetrahedral coordination are catalytically more efficient than those with such ions in octahedral coordination. -(MIHAILOVA*, I.; MEHANDJIEV, D.; Can.
