Abstract

of AlBN the nitrates (I) undergo autoxidation to yield the products (II)-(V), which result from oxidation of the benzylic methylene carbon. In the case of the reaction of (Ib) the compounds ( VI) and (VII), which result from the oxidation of the imidazole ring and the benzylic methine carbon resp., are also obtained (yields not given). -(OYLER, A.
