Abstract: Chlorination Reactions of Ephedrines Revisited. Stereochemistry and Functional Groups Effect on the Reaction Mechanism.-The chlorination of free as well as hydrochloride erythro isomers is found to proceed with 100% inversion, whereas the chlorination of sulfonamides and oxamides of erythro isomers occurs with 100% retention.
