Abstract

Convenient Syntheses of Substituted 7,12-Dioxa-benzo[a]anthracenes and 7,12-Dioxa-5-aza-benzo[a]anthracenes.-Key steps in the syntheses of the title compounds (required for biological studies) are the intramolecular cyclizations of (III) and (IX), respectively, and the palladiumcatalyzed methoxycarbonylation of the intermediate triflate to give (VII) and (XI). -(KHATIB, S.; BOUZOUBAA, M.; COUDERT, G.; Tetrahedron Lett. 39 (1998) 9, 989-990; Inst.
