Abstract

2000 cyclopentane derivatives cyclopentane derivatives Q 0030 43 -087 Intramolecular Trapping of Esters by 1-Lithio-1-bromocyclopropanes. -Dibromocyclopropanes (I) and (IX) give by treatment with MeLi at low temperatures bicycles (II) and (X). Oxidations and reductions of these hemiacetals lead to ring-opened cyclopropanes. Acrylate (VII) reacts in a rather different way to give bicycle ketone (VIII). Hemiacetals (IIa-c) exist in solution in equilibrium with their ring-opened alcohols. -(BAIRD, MARK S.; HUBER, FLORIAN A.
