ChemInform Abstract: NaBH4—I2 Mediated Chemoselective Reduction of γ‐Lactam and Thio‐γ‐lactam in Presence of Gem‐dicarboxylates: An Easy Access to 1,3‐Diaryl Pyrrolidines.
Abstract:1,3-Diaryl Pyrrolidines. -The selective reduction of γ-lactams is studied. Thus, carbonyl and thiocarbonyl groups in (I) and (III) can be chemoselectively reduced to the corresponding pyrrolidines using excess sodium borohydride/iodine; the ester functionalities remain unchanged. -(BARMAN, G.; HALDAR, P.; DUTTA, N.; RAY*, J.
