ChemInform Abstract: New Activated Bisfluoroaromatic Compounds.

Abstract: New Activated Bisfluoroaromatic Compounds.-Palladium catalyzed cross-coupling of the bis(phenyl bromides) (I) with acetylene (II) gives the bis (fluorophenylethynyl) derivatives ( III) which are smoothly oxidized to the corresponding bis( fluorophenylglyoxalyl) derivatives (IV). Compounds (IV) can be used in the synthesis of polyethers showing liquid crystalline properties. -(RUSANOV, A. L.; KESHTOV, M. L.; BELOMOINA, N. M.; MIKITAEV, A. K.; SARKISYAN, G. B.; KESHTOVA, S. “…Of special interest are fluorinated phenylated polyphenylenes because the incorporation of fluorine into macromolecules defines the further decrease in dielectric constants and the improvement of solubility of polymers [12,13]. These advantages of fluorinated phenylated polyphenylenes have attracted consider able attention of researchers to these polymers as interlayer dielectrics in multi integrated circuits.…”
