Abstract:081ChemInform Abstract The N-allylamides (I) react with the disulfides (II) in the presence of manganese(III) acetate to undergo ring closure, producing the sulfenylmethyloxazolines (III). From (Ic) and (IIb), the hydroxy sulfide (IV) is obtained as the main product. Similar cyclosulfenylation reactions are performed with the N-alkenylamides (V) and (VII) or the derivatives (IX) and (XI), yielding the heterocycles (VI),(VIII), (X), and (XII).
