Abstract

Treatment of 1‐(p‐chlorophenyl)imidazolinone (I) with nitrosyl chloride in methanolic solution gives the dimethoxy compound (II), while reaction of the 4‐phenyl compounds (III) in methanol or ethanol yields the monooximes (IV).
