Abstract

1997organo-iron compounds organo-iron compounds S 7100 -195Novel Electrochemical Sensors for Neutral Molecules.-Two new redox-active ferrocene receptors (I) bind to a series of neutral mono-and dicarboxylic acids. X-ray structure and NMR studies suggest an intermolecular four-point binding interaction between the guest and the ferrocene (I). Complexation induces a significant change in the electronic properties of the proximate ferrocene units as evidenced by the recognition of these neutral guests by cyclic voltammetry. -(CARR, J.
