Abstract

Hydrogenated naphthalene derivatives Q 1010Novel Thermal and Microwave-Assisted Facile Route to Naphthalen-2(1H)-ones via an Oxidative Alkoxylation-Ring-Opening Protocol. -The target compounds (IV) are obtained in two steps from 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde oxime (I) in the presence of alcohols. The method involves an oxidative ring closure to yield oxazines (III) followed by thermal ring-opening. Both steps are performed under thermal and microwave conditions.
