Abstract:ChemInform Abstract The reaction between (I) and morpholine (II) affords the complexes (III) (no yield given for (IIIb) and (IIIe)). Among these only (IIIa) is characterized by IR, 1H NMR and UV/VIS spectra and by elemental analysis. Treatment of (III) with acid gives the pyrrolopyridines (IV). On treatment with NaOH followed by acidification (III) are converted to the furopyridine (V). The mechanisms of the formations of (IV) and (V) are briefly discussed.
