Abstract:Reaction of Selenium Dichloride with Allyl PhenylEther. -The regio-and stereoselective reaction of selenium dichloride with allyl phenyl ether (I) yields a new heterocyclic compound, dihydrobenzoxaselenine (II). Presumably, the addition of selenium dichloride at the allyl group occurs at low temperature, whereas the following step, the electrophilic aromatic replacement, requires an elevated temperature.
