Part 1.-Allylic 1,1-dimetallic reagents, prepared in situ from the propargylic ether (I) and allylzinc bromide (II), undergo coupling reaction with various electrophiles such as (III) and (V) to give the corresponding products such as (IV) and (VI). The use of iodine as a second electrophile leads to the formation of the iodo compounds (VII). Coupling with (Vb) and then the aryl or vinyl iodides (VII) to yield ( IX) is catalyzed by Pd (0).
